This will be a mixed session of massage and yoga. There is no age limit on it as all children will benefit but the sessions are most suited for babies and children below school age. Jade will demonstrate strokes/stretches, tell parents how it benefits their child and use songs and rhymes to make it interesting for the children.
It’s a great opportunity for parents to bond with their children and help them gain the confidence to carry on at home.
Beginners Bodrhan – Trevor Smith
Trevor has been playing Bodhran for around 20 years and regularly plays in sessions around South-West Wiltshire, as well as having played with a Traditional Irish band and a contemporary folk-pop band.
His workshop is aimed at complete beginners and less confident players who want to learn or improve playing techniques, and get a sense of how to offer percussive accompaniment to traditional Celtic music.
He will cover basics like how to hold the drum, how to hold the beater, what to do with the ‘back hand’, single-ended stick use, double-ended stick use, playing on the beat, playing off the beat, and skipping beats. He’ll also cover playing to different rhythms such as jigs, reels, slip jigs and slides.
If you have a drum then bring it along although he will have a few spare and a couple to sell.
Belly Dance – Frith
"We come spinning out of nothingness scattering stars the stars form a circle and in the centre we dance” Rumi
What I love about teaching workshops at Tribal Earth is that they are completely free flowing & organic. I don't know beforehand who will be drumming or bringing other instruments to create a melody.Standing in a circle we warm up with some slow qi gong movements to get the energy flowing. These movements flow into the hip circles & figures of 8 of belly dance - we go where the music takes us. At times we shimmy & stomp to fast percussive beats. As the drumming slows we sway & undulate. This ancient dance form can be enjoyed by complete beginners as well as those who already tread a dancers path. Together we celebrate the sacred feminine & how better than to dance barefoot on the grass to live music.

Leo Rutherford
A few words about my journey. I worked in industry for twenty years, and for the last twelve years of that was a Managing Director of a manufacturing company which made tin cans and drums. By the age of forty I was suffering from acute stress and depression and 'normal' life did not make sense to me any more. I took my life apart and set out to find an alternative path, a path with more heart. I went through all kinds of therapy, learned to dance, sing and play in a way I hadn't since childhood, and I gained my MA in Holistic Psychology at Antioch University in San Francisco, where I lived for five years. Quite unexpectedly I came across the beautiful ancient wisdom of the indigenous shamans. I was introduced to this path by Joan Halifax in 1980 and since then have continued to learn from a wide variety of teachers. As I have got older, so I have become younger! It is my great joy to pass on to others through these workshops, some of the experience and knowledge that has helped me to transform my life. A process that goes on and on....

The Gayatri Mantra is one of the most beautiful of the Vedic /Hindu mantras. Regularly chanting the Gayatri is therefore a highly beneficial practice for both physical well-being and spiritual growth.

MOONVISIONS – VISIONS FOR A PLANET OF HIGHER CONSCIOUSNESS
OUR LIVES ON PLANET EARTH NEED TO CHANGE DRASTICALLY SO THAT WE CONTINUE TO EXIST AS A SUSTAINABLE SPECIES.
We are poisoning our planet as well as our human bodies with toxic chemicals. We are living in a chaotic, un-centred way and our basic needs are not being met. We need to look at every aspect of our current lives and see where changes need to be made. This includes every existing system, habitual methods of doing things, the way we bring up our children and how we treat the elders and ourselves. It includes our attitude to every living being on our beautiful planet, especially concerning animals.
I have written about these issues as fiction but these contain many facts.
We are approaching 2012 and this is a huge turning point in our lives on this planet.
WE NEED TO BE PREPARED FOR CHANGE ON ALL LEVELS NOW AND TO MOVE FORWARDS INTO A FAR GREATER WAY OF BEING THAT WILL SERVE US ALL IN EVERY WAY.

Tim Wheater
His five star recordings are a consistent part of his creative activity. Furthermore, he enjoys performing his uniquely melodic and distinctive music at concerts, festivals and events throughout the world. Over the years, his original recordings have been used globally by leading therapists, healers, thinkers and communicators to transmit a message of powerful good vibrations. His back catalogue includes more than a dozen best selling and award winning CDs. Stylistically, it is possible to trace the evolution of his technique through different albums - however one thread unites them all. That is the sensitive use of real organic sounds, both his virtuostic, masterful flute playing and, in latter years, his highly acclaimed voice.
